The Helpnet Newsletter is published erratically and distributed to members of the "helpnet-list" listserv. Here are the most recent issue and the archives.

HelpNet is a cooperative effort of eastern Maine grassroots, community-based organizations and individuals who work with them. We all have questions and problems as we use computers, both off-line and on the Internet. Through HelpNet we are pooling our skills and resources to get answers to our common questions, so that we can make technology work for us.

Questions that HelpNet addresses cover a wide range of concerns, including:
– Software-specific problems
– Using E-mail and the World Wide Web
– Hardware selection and system design
– Desktop publishing
– General troubleshooting
– Telecommunications policy
– Strategic technology planning

The principal services which HelpNet offers its members are this Web site, Helpnet-list (an E-mail discussion list through which members can exchange opinions, advice, questions and answers, and arrange face-to-face meetings to work on common areas of interest), and periodic workshops on topics of common interest. There is complete membership information on the Membership Policies and Agreement page.

You can learn more about Helpnet-list, and subscribe to it, from the Helpnet-list page.
